Toyota report claims sticking accelerator issue was due to drivers' mistake.

But this bit is interesting

regulators warned, saying they would consider forcing all vehicles to have brakes that can override the accelerator even if both pedals are pressed at once.

That might bring left foot braking to an end?

I think these two sentences are a reasonable summary:-

The investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and NASA looked at 280,000 lines of computer code for flaws, but could find nothing to explain the problems.
They said the causes were the ones they suspected all along — bulky floormats, sticking gas pedals and driver mistakes.


The key bit is no ELECTRONIC cause.
