Traffic chaos due to adverse feather conditions, authorities face large cleanup bill.
Haven't seen if the Sun have picked it up yet but no doubt their finest would come up with a good headline.

Can't think of a decent pun, but why didn't the feathers catch fire? I would have thought they would burn really well.
|
Anyone making puns about this would be well advised to duck down below the parapet after.

>>>why didn't the feathers catch fire.
I'm just going to let the chickens out... I'll check it out on one :-)

Treated, to meet fire regulations for bedding?

I'd assume they'd be well compacted, because, well, feathers don't weigh much. Perhaps in that state they'd tend to smoulder, a bit like a thatched roof. The fire brigade may have to spread them out and damp them down to ensure there's no further risk.
Pat. Ever transported feathers? You've probably spat a few.

...You've probably spat a few....
...and ruffled a few more.

We had a consultant in yesterday who drove past this. Feathers everywhere apparently, but was worse for the guy in front who was so nosy that as he went past he opened his window to have a good look.
Apparently it was like a Vectra Snow Globe, with little arms flailing wildly.

its a good job their werent any tarmac gangs in the area
|
That sounds plucking awful.

The Cambridge News ran with "Spitting Feathers", no other news puns yet that I can see.
|
I have spat a few, and ruffled a few but vertainly never carried them.
They're too light for Fenland Hauliers who prefer to charge by the ton:)

How much does a ton of feathers weigh then?
|
About 50lbs??
Edit: I guessed... nearer 2lbs it seems.
