Watched The Proffesionals this evening and seeing Cowlley racing around in the 2.8 Granada the dark red one, And Bodie in the 3.0s Capri & Doyle in the RS 2000 i think it was just got me wondering where are these cars now?

The Dukes of Hazzard i read they smashed up some 200 i think Dodge Chargers to make those episodes i watched in the early eighties, Some came over here and loads in the states at meets etc.

Are the cars from British TV in private collections or museums or just sold on afterwards?

Im not interested in Del boys 3 wheel shed seen that on tv enough, Anyone know where they are?

Thank you for that link it makes great reading, Just fancy the RS2000 had a electric sunroof as fitted to the Granada a one off in this car & great to see they have been restored. :-)

One of the Capris was found buried under a pile of tyres with its roof paint stripped after a leaking battery had been left on it.
Amazing.

I think the Sweeney's Granada/Consul is still alive. Features in the Classic Mags now and again......Reg no. NHK**** I think.

I transported a white Volvo P1800 down to the Bath area 20odd yrs ago. I was told it was the original Saint's car....but who knows. It certainly carried ST 1 on it. I've a photo somewhere in me archives !

The black Jowett Javelin in Ballykissthingy belongs to a club member in NI.

About 1980 I knew someone who had a metallic brown Ghia 3 litre with tan vinyl roof and tan leather trim. Alloys as well, I think.

I thought it looked quite elegant, especially next to my metallic battleship grey 1971 Renault 6.

I had a blue, 2 litre Cosul for a fortnight. Bought it to tow a borrowed caravan round Scotland. Sold it the day after I got back, at the old Watson St car market. Made a £50 loss....cheap holiday.

I had a little go in a Tickford Capri Turbo once owned by Barry Hearn. It was in the hands of a trader (around the same time I borrowed my boss's Escort RS Turbo, mid 90s) and whilst it accelerated with some vigour (>200bhp from its turbocharged 2.8i engine) it slowed down about as well as a non-servoed Mini with drum brakes. I'll say it again, never meet your heroes (the car, not the boxing/snooker promoter).

Back in the early-80's my ex-girlfriend's Dad worked for a Ford dealership (Brew Bros. in Kensington) and he always had a pick of either Granada Ghia 2.8is, XR3is or laterly Sierra XR4is in the drive. Despite being only 17 at the time he was very geenrous in letting me take them for a spin (well, not literally, of course ...)

Bit on this site about Terry McCann's Capri from Minder. Looks like the original is still around

There was a very tidy early 80s Granada Ghia X estate parked right outside the Automobile Club in Monte Carlo the other day.
