Someone whom I vaguely know has recently changed his RangeRover to a yellow Boxster. It is on private plates so I have no idea what age it is, although it looks like a recent model.
In a bright canary yellow I think it looks wonderful...I have no idea what the engine size is, or whether these cars are reliable, but I would love a spin to see how it compares to my '04 330 Ci convertible.
I'd better loiter around and ask him then....
If petrol prices continue to rise, prices may drop. Then again, so will the value of mine!

If it's a 987 it will have a 3.2, 3.4 or 3.6 engine, depending on age and model.

If it's an earlier 986 it will have a 2.5, 2.7 or 3.2 engine, depending on age and model.

Whichever, you must bag a drive - you'll love it. Bit of a change from a Range Rover!

986 Boxster S (with the 3.2 engine) is the best handling car I can ever remember driving. Amazing turn-in, absolutely neutral handling, slick gearbox and a responsive engine that sounds great at any speed. Ride is also half decent - advantage of a low centre of gravity. Better all round package (imho) than a 911.

That's the one I had, and I agree with everything you say. The steering also has such a delicious feel to it. I replaced it with a 996 - one of my worst mistakes in life (so far!)
