There are Asda shoppers and Asda shoppers. In Stoke, Tunstall - a deprived area- it's obvious many live locally and are not affluent. Off the A500 - where you have to drive to get there - obviously more affluent. I love cheap Asda prices but have to admit their marketing is neither as slick nor as effective as Tesco. They tried to open one near me, but the liberal Guardian readers had none of it, they used every excuse in the book to make sure it didn't happy. I am surprised they allow single people, most of these places are couples only. Reply to this message | Report message

That's very true Bigtee, I have sat in many a blokes cab at night sharing a camion stew and a cofee and been told to stay totally silent when their wives rang them. I have also sat in a blokes cab who had to put Radio One on and his wife did the same, to prove he wasn't in the pub, but in his cab. It's sad really when it gets to that sort of distrust. Not quite sure why she wouldn't like the husband being in a pub. I can understand why she might get a bit worried if she heared a female was in the cab though.
