Car would not start on 8th December, -15C and it was mid afternoon.
Gem sent a breakdown van and within 10 minutes it was going (ELITE Falkirk!!).
Invoice from Elite took ages and was sent to Gem and not me in error - it arrived last Saturday 22nd Jan.
Paid it on Monday and posted off the receipted bill - GEM Cheque arrives 10 am today (Wed).
Now that is service -from Start to Cheque!

We're with GEM too, couple of occasions we've had to call them out, the local chap has turned up in < 30mins, and repayment arranged promptly. They do have a limit of £60 on home call outs mind, which was a bit annoying as transport to nearest Cit dealer cost £70 odd. Still, saving about £100 / year vs AA or RAC!

I have been with them years but having a Honda I have never had need of them .
It is nice to be reassured that they are on the ball though.

Do you have it serviced by Honda dealer? If so, they seem to offer Honda breakdown cover with the service. Don't know if they all do it, and I had to ask, but it's pukka top level cover and inlcudes european cover. Worth as much as the basic service if you needed that level of cover.

The current Accord is now looked after by my local independent and I have no Honda cover.
The last Accord I had went scuba diving in the floods in Northumberland and was written off a couple of years ago.
So at the time I was covered by Gem and Honda .
Particularly because I did not have to pay up front and reclaim I went with the Honda cover which was via the AA who recovered the vehicle 350 miles home and gave us a rental car foc for a week to continue our holiday and get us home.
I kept the Gem cover for SWMBO.
