I know someone did, forgotten who and whether or not they were from the BR.
Its top of my list so any feedback on ownership very welcome :-)

Pretty sure it was the same guy who had a Legacy Spec-B converted to LPG.
He had an Ignis Sport - very different to the roly-poly standard ones.

I had this for 3 years (2006 model 5-door) and then it was written off in accident.
Very nippy and reliable car. I loved it.
Ride quality will not please everyone but it was fine for me. It was quite spacious inside in spite of its diminutive size.

Local lollipop lady has a Sport one. Loves it. Much better mpg than her Fiesta and nice to drive she says.
She must drive at least 4,000 miles a year...

We looked at these for Mrs. B. She liked the high driving position, the square shape and the fact that it's surprisingly small. Even the relatively new ones at the Suzuki dealer near us were showing signs of wear in the interior though and the ride is very harsh. We still list it as a possible, but I'd prefer a Fiat Panda.

Very true. I looked after a Suzuki something for a lady a few years back... she'd bought it new and I did the first service after a year and 23k. She asked me to sort all sorts of things that had broken like window winders, seat brackets, boot lock and catches etc. I did them but commented it was all made of cheese and if she intended to carry on with this above average mileage she'd have to buy a proper car.

That is quite poor the only car I ever known to have such issues was the Lada Riva.
|
Yes it was poor. Things that in a normal car would be reasonable pressed steel were made out of stuff more like a cake tin lid... just normal use by a retired lady was breaking it. Funnily enough I found myself standing by a Wagon R yesterday... never really noticed one before... thought it more rickshaw than car.

I drove an Ig part-time, and it was great fun. Nothing wrong with that. Probably before the II, though.

I own two!
Well, SWBO owns one, a 1.3GL 5 door. Has done since last April 2010. She's not image concious and likes small boxy cars. Needless to say we love it. It's comfortable, capable, economical, reliable & well built - nothing rattles or has fallen off.
In July last year, fed up with an unreliable Citroen I bought an Ignis Sport. A 2004 model with only 14,700 miles genuine and a full main dealer history. I commute 82 miles, 3 days a week and thus far the car has been totally reliable and very economical averaging 45.5 mpg over 22 fill ups. It is more fun to drive than an original mini I owned once although, not as comfortable as the 1.3. The seats take some getting used to and the suspension is of course firmer. As my first 'sporty' car following 10 years driving boring diesels it's in it's element on anything other than motorway or dual carriageway.
Like SWBO's 1.3 it too is well built only better so as it was made in Japan rather than Hungary. I love it!

Any of you owners recall how the rear seats fold down?
|
My pal has just bought on - gets it on Thursday.
Replaces his written off Hyundai Accent which floated away last week in the heavy rain!!
|
I know someone who has one coming next week, I will put you in touch.
