I know the garage in question as I went to see a Focus at Total Car sales. The car looked ok it had done 80k and I didn't have any reason to question that milleage (it was probably clocked but if it was it wasn't obvious) but it had no service history or anything so I walked away.
The unit was very large and the setup didn't make any sense, there were supposed to be a car machanics but they didn't appear to have any customers.
The man I saw wasn't the man I saw but it was at the same premises trading under the same name.
Eitherway hopefully one less rogue is operating in the area.
Rattle, until we can overlong url links to word wrap, could you perhaps use tinyurl (or something similar) to shorten any long links you post - ta

Eh? Was he or wasn't he ;-)

Was the same business, but the man which showed me the car wasn't the man pictured. There was a few people working there.

Years ago we went looking at cars there and the condition vs mileage didn't look right on a few. No evidence of clocking though. Prices too high for our son anyway so didn't buy anything there anyway.
Hope he doesn't bring down the price of houses in the Heatons though ;-)

The Norris is more industrial and cheaper than the moor anyway :).
I think the Focus was £1795 on a W plate, this would have been earlier last year probably or late 2008. The price was right but like you say something just didn't feel right. I always automatically assume with traders selling cars without any history that it is probably clocked too.

>>The man I saw wasn't the man I saw
Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away
When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn’t see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don’t you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don’t slam the door
Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away
