The mileage probably is dodgy, but 138,00 is an awful lot for that age of car.

There's plenty of pics, and the car doesn't look like it's covered such a high mileage.

Call me naive....

"Call me naive...." Thats why it lends itself to clocking !!!

The tel number is a pay & go mobile & he's not answering anymore !

certain details about previous transactions on e-bay from this seller have been removed as well !
The service history on HPI check all ties in with the reg number etc.

Why not report it to Ebay then?

Who knows whether the details alleged to have come from HPI did indeed. Maybe somebody has a grudge against an otherwise blameless seller?

If you look at his history on EBay it is almost all a 'buying' history. He appears to sell on the cars elsewhere! Be interesting to see if they all received the same haircut?

I think he has done an excellent job clocking this car. The speedo digits line up perfectly ... ;-)

I've never seen such a thing on HPi. How would they have access to such a frequent record of miles?
Honda Civic saloon - this car has lost 76000 miles in the last few days - RattleandSmoke
I would imagine the Honda main dealer records the milleage each time it is in and they then pass on the data to HPI for a small fee. How can he claim the it is HP clear?

How do you know for certain it is the same car?

Who volunteers to be first to ask another question of him ? Like mileage and also is more than one Mot Cert available to inspect etc.

Just a word of caution, all the seller needs to do is post the URL of the adds into google and it will probably link to all the forums. I am sure people don't want an angery Luton man at banging on your door.

These are your management skills for the Census job then?
Honda Civic saloon - this car has lost 76000 miles in the last few days - Iffy
The more I look at this mileage history, the more suspect it is.

How does a convenient step-by-step dated record of the mileage come to exist?

Did this very high mileage car happen to need a dealer visit every 4,000m to 6,000m throughout its life?

The OP of a thread on the other place was making a great deal of his 'findings'.

One explanation may be he has an axe to grind - could be for any reason - with the seller.

Honda Civic saloon - this car has lost 76000 miles in the last few days - DP
The usage pattern in the HPI report makes no sense to me either.

50k in its first year, then 25k a year after. Visits to the dealer every month or two in its first year. Then no visits for its last year, despite having >100k on it, and covering nearly 30k.

If it's a one owner car, there's no consistency. Mileage may vary, but by this magnitude? And would someone who's had it in the dealership on average every 2-3 months from new suddenly not do so for a whole year and 30,000 miles right at the end? You could argue they'd taken it out of the dealer network at 3 yrs old which is quite plausible, but then why take it back right at the end?

The car is advertised with a full Honda history which can be proven (or disproven) by a simple call or visit to any Honda dealer. If it is clocked, the seller is taking a heck of a risk. Better to sell it with no history at all, or a ficticious one from a non existent garage that's suddenly "gone out of business, guv" and can't be traced. The lower risk would far outweigh the few hundred quid difference it might make to the value.

And I know a valet can work wonders, but it is very, very clean for six figure miler. Neither of my two look anything like that, even with an afternoon of elbow grease.

See my post above from his history as a buyer he specialises in buying very high milage cars. mainly Passats, Mazda 6s and Hondas.

Interesting to see if anybody can find where they were sold.

Beware!!! Of this**Doggie**EBuyer Cannot be trusted,Think Twice B4 Deal with!!!!

And this is the feedback from his last sale which ebay removed from his account but has kept on the buyers (!)
Honda Civic saloon - this car has lost 76000 miles in the last few days - sherlock47
I found that feedback as well.

However I thought that this was the feedback from the seller - the removed (abusive?) feedback was what the purchaser had left?

Or have I interpreted it wrongly?
Honda Civic saloon - this car has lost 76000 miles in the last few days - PeteW
Stand corrected - this was indeed the sellers feedback :-(

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck?

...it's a dodgy eBay trader masquerading as a private seller to avoid VAT and income tax on their ill-gotten profits.

It was a joke. I didn't mean any offence to be caused. I know you hate clockers you have mentioned it a few times.

If you Google street view the postcode that he is using in the advert, it is probably not too difficult to work out from his internet buying history who he is involved with.
OK I may have jumped to the wrong conclusion - but I would wager something on it!

BB fancy meeting up outside?

I don't believe it, someone's rated a Rattolo post as offensive.

Go on son, go for it.

Anyone heard from bb in the last week? He said he'd be in Luton last Saturday - dangerous place, unless the jammy so and so was jetting off to warmer climes.

If so, I wonder what his chances are of getting home?
