There's a good quote from the AA man in this story about exaggerated and fraudulent personal injury claims causing insurance premiums to rise:
‘Personal injury claim rates in Britain are four times those of any other European country – yet we have fewer accidents.
‘Either we have excessively weak necks or people are responding to the personal injury claim lawyers.’

So why aren't personal injury claim lawyers busy milking what ought to be lucrative openings in the rest of Europe? We all have the same laws now.

Because in mainland Europe in an accident no matter how small the police attend apportion blame and thats what the insurance pay.Personnel injury is assessed by the doctors/specialists at the hospital everybody has third party insurance and no fee no claim insurance and claim chasing are illegal. The UK is a unpoliced disaster zone as far as insurance is concerned.

It's embarrassing to watch UK TV sometimes, with the stream of ambulance chaser adverts. Am I the only person who sees the bloke fall off the ladder and shouts 'that was your own fault, you twerp!' At least I think it was twerp...
