Cor lumme. Capital One (in the States) have started doing variable apr rates according to your browser, as they say your browser choice reflects the kind of risk you are.
Have a look at
www.capitalone.com/autoloans/?linkid=WWW_0908_AUTO_Z_LNHPN_H1_01_T_AC1
in two different browsers.
If this catches on over here comparison sites will be even more complex to navigate.

Interesting to say the least. Loans viewed via Chrome are a fair bit more expensive than Safari. Both on a Mac. You'd have thought they'd try fleecing Mac users who are used to paying premiums for low spec hardware ;-)
So I wonder what it would be if I used Ubuntu and Chrome? My usual laptop browsing combination. I wonder if the ISP also effects it.
If those APR rates are to be believed than in about 18 months time when the buy out price for my car is reasonable I might actually change over. I would still loose about £300 but over all I would save a few hundered as I am currently paying 11% APR.

That page is for the States, Rattle....
I thought you wet/windy Manchester near Liverpool not Manchester New Hampshire Ratts !
I was so busy being impressed by the sudden massive fall of interest rates I didn't see that detail!
Oi and it is not windy, it is something Manchester is at least good for, wet it is though although stastically there are much wetter parts of the UK it is pouring down now.

Don't complain about the odd drop of rain, its what gives us the trees many have been commenting on in the "Autumn" thread. If you don't like rain go and live in North Africa or somewhere else with an arid climate. Most UK cities need a good washdown now and again to remove the litter.
Cheaper on Firefox - more expensive on IE, same as IE on Chrome more expensive again on Safari.
I'm glad you're in the UK Rattle, makes you more real somehow !
I think rattle is actually Sanjiv, and he works in a Mumbai call centre and calls himself Greg in the hope you think he is from Manchester.
It is a shame we never got to meet a couple of months back. It would have been 'interesting'.
Chrome gives the highest rate Rattle, 0.6% difference between that and the lowest (Iceweasel). That's just the advertised rate of course, I'd be interested if completing two identical applications through different browsers would result in two different offers?
I'm curious too as to whether it will spread over to this side of the pond, and if it does, will it be adopted by insurance companies?
One has to ask, what on earth made the OP look at a US site, for insurance he cant get, on different browsers?
