 Vauxhall - Gloucester Quays - Zero
So there I was as above, and bumped into a classic car rally. In amongst the usual tat, was a Vauxhall Ventura FD in a lovely deep burgundy. Chatted to the old boy who owned it. He bought it new in 1970 to do exec taxi work, done 226,000 miles in it, keeps it in lovely condition

Thought that was what you meant. Same body as a Victor but with a massively bigger engine.

Father of a school friend had an ex police Victor estate with the same engine. Still remember the reg SAJ 902H.

Probably first car I was in over 100mph.

I remember as a kid, dad had picked up a brochure for the Ventora FD. Photos of the cars were super-imposed over cartoon-style drawings of futuristic settings. They made the car look really smart to my easily-impressed 6-year old eyes.
