 Peugeot - 2008 - John F
Seems a bit quiet on here lately (I'm an ex HJ forum poster) so thought I'd hopefully entertain you on yet another dismal morning with a couple of links to historic reports on Mrs F's car which doesn't appear to exist on this forum's drop down list of Peugeot's models.

A 20yr report on my retirement 'forever car' is imminent!

I've just sold our Berlingo XL with the same engine and gearbox (but 8-speed), on the basis that Mrs BB wanted a bigger car(!!). We did 37,000 miles in 3 years and had the oil changed every 10,000 miles, using the proper stuff. It didn't burn a drop. I find 3-cylinder engines lively and I like their off-beat 'thrum' (reminds me a bit of my 2CV).

One reads a lot of wet-belt horror stories, but properly maintained and using the correct oil they seem OK? Our son had a 10-year old early PureTech Citroen C3 which is still running fine with his cousin.

A bigger car/van than a Berlingo XL means diesel, given that EVs don't have the range for European touring which is where a lot of our miles accumulate. So I've bought a lightly used Peugeot Traveller 2.0 HDI (only sold new with EV motor these days). So it's out of the wet-belt frying pan and into the AdBlue fire!

HAving done over ten thousand miles in our adblue equipped Superb it's not a problem so far.

Was guzzling the stuff while we were on our hols and towing and had to top it up. Other than manually handling a large can of it and hitting the filler funnel supplied it was problem free.

The adblue range shown on the dash seems to be like fuel and driven by recent average use. On holiday it was down to less than 3k miles but now back around 7k.
