Toyota have invited me to the '75' plate reception at my friendly neighbourhood Toyota glass palace.
Here is a excerpt from their blurb.
"Get ready for The 75 Plate Choice Event - an exclusive opportunity to drive away in a brand-new Toyota. Join us between 5 – 15 September at Group 1 Toyota Guildford and explore the latest 75 plate models, unbeatable offers, and test drive opportunities. What’s more? Purchase a new Toyota and receive a £1,000 voucher* - whether it’s towards your new Toyota, accessories or a Service Plan!
This is in addition to the £3,750 Toyota Electrified Saving^, plus up to £4,000 Deposit Contribution +.
This offer is only available during the event - and the voucher can only be redeemed in person. Don’t miss out, book your appointment today and find the Toyota that fits your lifestyle".
End quote.
Now does that mean that, in total, I can get a maximum of £8,750.00 off the cost of a new Toyota?
There couldn't possibly be any snags in that - could there?

>> Now does that mean that, in total, I can get a maximum of £8,750.00 off
>> the cost of a new Toyota?
No. The deposit contribution is only if you take out their pcp, and then only on cars they need to shift - not the one you want to buy, the 3.75k electric is a government rebate on electric cars only the 1k is discount.
Its all very variable.

Part of an email I received
Order an Eligible Vehicle between 6th August 2025 until 30th September 2025 inclusive and register by 15th December 2025 to enjoy up to £1,500 off hybrid models and £3,750 off all Electric models. Applicable to cash and finance private retail customers residing in the UK.
The line that caught my eye was:-
Model shown is MY25 Corolla Hatchback GR Sport Hybrid £34,995, including £1,250 bi-tone metallic paint
Not far short of the £40K Luxury car tax for a small family hatchback

This listing shows a discount of £8,750.

The postcode is not correct, in case anyone notices.

>> This listing shows a discount of £8,750.
If you want THAT Toyota,
If you want THIS Toyota. www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/land-cruiser, its list price is £77k
And no-one will sell it to you for less.
(you did say "off the cost of a new Toyota?")
|
But I didn't say "off the cost of ANY new Toyota".
By 'eck, it's good to be back.
|
>> But I didn't say "off the cost of ANY new Toyota".
I cant be responsible for what you didnt say, only what you did say. You were guilty of the sin of ommision.

Read a headline about the change on an American Car Magazine - I never read EV articles - just not interested at all!
