Heading home from Spain soon, arrive Portsmouth 17:30 ( allow 1hr+ to clear passport/ customs). Staying at Tot Hill Newbury Travelodge overnight …any recommendations for a food stop between Brum & Manc just off the M6 ?
I think
My best option is to find a Toby Carvery unless anyone has local knowledge.
Any suggestions appreciated

Junction 18, Holmes Chapel. George & Dragon, corner of Middlewich Road and A50. Can't miss it and not fr off M6. Don't know if it's a carvery, but have eaten there when caravanning at Byley nearby

Thanks Ted
Tot Hill Travelodge has an adjacent McDonalds which was crawling with brats and screamers when I arrived Sunday evening after the short drive from Portsmouth.
Fortunately the Carpenters Arms at Burghclere was only a 15 minute stroll, and it wasn’t raining. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed, so dinner was poured and they informed me that non residents were welcome for breakfast. Rude not to, so a 250 mile non stop drive home...A34, M40/42/6 A59 in just under 5 hours.
Lunch not required...was pining for home so made progress as fast as traffic conditions allowed on our congested full of road works motorway system.
