Trying to assign my 'cherished' number to the Herald. Seems you need an MOT in spite of being exempt. I suppose it's because they don't want to pay for an inspection to prove it exists. Fairy nuff !
Took it to my man this week and he took it to his testers, some difficulty in convincing the tester that he actually could do a test on an exempt vehicle but he passed it in the end.
Tried to do an assignment with the DVLA on line and got knocked back three times. An on-line chat told me I had to do it by post and send a paper copy of the MOT which I didn't have !
So , I have to now go on the DVLA website, find my MOT, which is there, print a copy out, and send it to, have you guessed yet ? ....The DVLA ! Could have been sorted in 15 minutes yesterday and I could have been enjoying the open road on i's new number. Never mind, it's still road legal !
I'm off out to cruise round and impress the chicks !
