Saw a neighbour bringing his new ish motorbike out the garage. A big beast of a thing.
A quick check with the number plates tells me it’s. Triumph Rocket III R.
A look on auto trader suggests a 2.5l engine but only 179bhp.
I know nowt about bikes but is this calculated in same way as a car engine cc and bhp?
Seems a huge size of engine to have on a motorbike. What is the point / benefit of that?
When I used to go to Florida for the first American Le Mans series race of the season at Sebring mid March, we'd often stay in Daytona for a few days before going to the track, and some years the leftovers from Daytona Bike Week were still kicking around.
So one day my bike-mad Canadian mate and I walked past this parked-up thing called a Boss Hogg - a bike with a huge V8 engine. Massive intake of breath of his part - "Wow, you'll never see another one of those" he said.
Minutes later a pair of them obligingly chugged past us... :-)
Like this... 2 speed semi auto gearbox, plus reverse. This one is 8128 cc apparently!!
