Anybody want a Fisker? - tyrednemotional
I know it's been discussed on here before, but if anyone wants one it's probable that one of these wouldn't be missed ;-)

This article is grossly overvaluing these cars. Brand new on Autotrader for under £24k:

I'd give £5k for one myself.

Probably mentioned elsewhere as well.

I understand that these cars "call home" every time they are switched on. With no one to update software etc, they are going to be a repair nightmare.

Probably worth buying as a donor car for others.

Gross! I wouldn't give you a fiver for one.

...I was rather suggesting "appropriating" one... ;-)

Good luck with insuring one.

They have all been scooped up along all the others scattered around the dealerships.

They will all be auctioned off

Unless someone's supplying parts or can cross-reference them to existing items, they'll become worthless the first time their MoT requires a track rod end, windscreen or tail lamp. That's if they get that far without needing software updates or an accident repair first.

Know someone who was seriously considering one - parts are not a big issue as they are produced by big suppliers.

Even the software has a group of geeks/fans looking after it.

Insurance is the killer.

As long as they make them or as long as it is economical for them to make them.

I think parts like brake disks and pads are going to be ok, but more exotic parts, that fit that car only are going to be a problem, such as the windscreen.

At the right price though, it could be fun and I would consider it.

>> such as the windscreen.

Having watched an episode of Wheeler Dealers where a windscreen for a very old SAAB was needed, I don't think that would be an issue.

All that money and not even a radio cassette.

Rip off.

Can you expand on that? What was the solution?

They used another windscreen with the same curvature from a different car but bigger (from an Impala), and basically cut it down to size to fit a 1973 Saab 9-6.

This was in California, but I can't see why the same principle couldn't be used elsewhere.

I couldn't see if she bought the car on credit or with a debit card - a charge back might help if she is within the "time period".

I don't think a s75 claim would work as it's over £30k.

If purchased on HP there may be some comeback with the HP company?

These cars will be great for enthusiasts or techies who can devote the time to resolve issues. Otherwise avoid.
