The lad had only passed his test 12 weeks before. We all did stupid things when we were younger but the temptation of mobile phones didn't exist for us.

The 2 worst things I did as a lad.


1. Moggie 1000 brakes failed (master cylinder) drove back to a local garage ( 3 miles) with no brakes other than handbrake.

2. Driving the same Moggie under a flyover one frosty morning and the rear end slid under power. Taught me a huge amount about RWD which became handy later on in life.

learned all my RWD lessons with Ford Capris. A car that thought oversteer was a normal way of life.

I managed an inadvertent 180 in a rear wheel drive bubble car on wet cobbles. It had all of 200cc!
