My X1 was in for a service and an EGR recall (and replacement) today.
They gave me a IX1 courtesy car. A 2023 fully electric version of my 8 year old car.
The acceleration in it! Wow!!! From a standing start at traffic lights on slip road to motorway I floored it. Don’t think I have ever driven anything that quick. Well rephrase that, have driven quicker cars but I personally didn’t drive them as quick as this one.
A check of the spec has a 5.6s 0-60.
Interestingly I did a new build configurator on their website, this car would be £61k new. Apart from the new I drive and digital screens, it was basically the same “toys” spec as my car which was £39k new in 2016.
Oh, also loved the regen braking which came very natural to me as I drive very much anticipating stopping at junctions etc with limited braking.
Didn’t like- apart from heated rear window and max air demister to front windscreen, all the other controls were in the touchscreen menu like ventilation, heated seats etc. Suppose you would get used to it eventually.
