 Amusing parking - Zero
I am mooching around the Peak District this week, staying at Chatsworth. (amazingly missing the rain) Anyways I happened to be in Bakewell this afternoon leaving a car park. Well I would like to have done, except a guy in a clearly Brand new Volvo EX30 was trying to park using his Autonomous self parking feature.

Good lord what a cock up the car made of trying to reverse into a not that tricky space, about 4 goes ending up in all sorts of cockeyed angles (it never hit anything tho) His wife was laughing I was laughing at him, and he finally gave up and did it manually, ending up covering his head with his hands. in shame and embarrassment.

Does anyone use autonomous parking? I’ve got it on my car which I’ve had for two years but have yet to try it out. I really must give it a go.

I have on various test drives, it's an unnerving and usually fruitless experience. Memory reversing is however useful in certain situations

My lovely 2013 V40 T5 had autonomous parking - used it a couple of times to the amusement of passers by in Llanberis one rainy afternoon - it worked ok, but not the sort of thing that I'd bother with. The Audi has it, never tried it. My wife's 330 had the reverse feature, far more use on rural single track roads than a parking gadget

My X1 has it for parallel parking.
In 5 years of ownership I have used it 3 times. Purely to show off to whatever passenger at the time.
Truth be told, on thinking about it, I actually very rarely parallel park now. WFH. Park in shopping centre car parks if out at shops. No one I regularly visit lives with on street car parking.

Same here I couldn't tell you the last time I had to parallel park, years ago.

EX30's had so many software issues Volvo had to take them off sale. They were giving some customers their money back.

There was a funny item on the news yesterday about CD players not being in cars anymore - wasn;t so obvious, but they were showing a Volvo XC40 and using voice commands to select a tune - except it failed every time, either trying to put the song title as a navigation destination, or just playing the wrong tune.

It was particularly funny to us as we went to look at one a couple of weeks ago and the voice commands kept doing the wrong thing for the "producr specialist" showing us the car.

Normally we would walk, but if stopping off on our way out or back in our village high street then have to parallel park, and normally have to reverse into a space, and it's particularly nerve-wracking as it has kerbs high enough to catch even wheels with high sidewall tyres.

My wife's late mk1 Tiguan did it absolutely perfectly every time - quite miss the feature as it's not on the Karoq that replaced it.
