Those seats we have aspired to since the 80s (depending on the state of your back).

I guess they've left their customers in an uncomfortable position.

Recaro seats seem to have split into many sections each separate but producing chairs for big arenas, gaming and other non-automotive areas - but it's the car seat company that is in trouble.

I've also heard that BBS wheels is in trouble - odd since they currently hold the F1 contract and many other motorsport contracts.

Years ago I had an alloy wheel manufacturer as a client.

The manufacturing process was fairly crude.

Two things surprised me:

1. Car manufacturers rarely designed the wheels themselves. They had a model and would ask the client to design suitable wheels.

2. The mark-up made by the car manufacturer - the client at the time would sell an alloy wheel for say £25 each. The retail price in the showroom was £2k!!!

In the end, the company couldn't compete and shifted manufacturing to South Africa.
