 Miles travelled overseas - legacylad
I normally keep a note of miles travelled when I return my hire car...take a photo of mileage upon collection and again when returned.
Small scrap of paper with distances covered....4 rentals so far this year, another 2 anticipated, plus my recently initiated September/October road trip.

In 2023 I drove more overseas miles than in the U.K....about 2.5k miles on my ‘big’ trip last year, definitely more on my Dieppe > Narbonne > Andorra > Córdoba > Malaga > Moraira > Soria > Bilbao road trip in 2024.

Sensible head on I should consolidate my cars....just get a nice compact SUV more suitable for someone my age. I know that an estate is definitely more sensible, but a late model Lexus 350h has caught my eye. Seems the perfect fit for long overseas road trips, which may well become twice a year in 2025....reliable, comfortable, more than enough room for my camping gear and reasonably frugal on petrol.

Still love driving the GRY....but can’t really justify two cars. Jeez I must be ageing quickly.
