I rarely venture out these days but assumed that things might have improved.

Reading responses to the Japan air crash ---
Complaints that new LED runway lights are not adjusted re the prevailing visibility and therefore too bright in some circumstances.
some LED lamps fitted on modern aircraft are not as good as the previous lights in some circumstances.
On clear nights, I have noted that some old strobe lights on aircraft can be seen for many miles away unlike most modern aircraft.

It's a pain in the neck. It hurts your eyes and makes the head-up display flare bright green just as you pass through about 50ft on landing.
Occasionally I've asked the tower to dim the lights only to be told that they're already on their lowest setting.
