 Almost pulled. - Old Navy
I was heading north on the M90 this morning, following a marked traffic car at a steady 75 ish. I noticed another marked traffic car slowly catching up and it dropped in behind me. The TC in front lit up and started to pull a Mondeo onto the hard shoulder, the Mondeo then floored it and both TC's gave chase. Further up the road after a short rolling road block I came up to the Mondeo on the hard shoulder with the occupants face down in the grass. Obviously the stop was planned by the plods, don't often get to witness that sort of event in this bit of the world.

Probably Irn Bru runners :-)

I was worried my privacy glass and drug dealer wheels might have tripped their in car detection systems. :)

With a thread title like that, I thought you meant something totally different.

You lot will get me in trouble with Mrs ON! :)

LOL! Sadly, it was the first thought that came into my head :-)

Calm down you two.

Anyway, isn't it time for your afternoon naps?

Not just yet - there's a Norman Wisdom double-bill I don't want to miss :-)

Sounds good Pat. But Tesco mash? Thats cheating! Yesterday we had roast parsnips with our cold pork leftover from Sunday. Instead of spuds. Nice change.

drug dealer near me got stopped last week in his kia
they let him go as they felt sorry for him
;-)

...Tesco mashed potato!...

Lots of lovely home-prepared veggies, and then Tesco mash.

Bit of a let down, but the pearl barley is a nice touch for the thickening.

I've been known to peel a large potato, prick it a few times, zap it in the microwave, and mash it on the plate with a fork.

I can't peel potatoes, I end up chasing them all over the house, as I lose grip of them. Their Cheddar mash is lovely.

...I can't peel potatoes...

What a nuisance, and very frustrating I'm sure.

Nothing to stop you using my microwave method with the skins on.

You'll end up with what posh restaurants call 'crushed potato'.

Use good-quality mashing potatoes - Maris Piper or King Eddies.

Much better for this purpose than those giant white things sold for baking.

"my microwave method with the skins on"

The prick with the fork method?
 Almost pulled. - Iffy
...The prick with the fork method?...

I'm no prick so you can fork off.

Joshing aside, I tend to use a skewer to get all the way through the potato.

Normally do six or seven pricks to be on the safe side.

"Normally do six or seven pricks to be on the safe side."

I've been pondering for a while about how best to make an innuendo out of this but have decided that it's enough to draw attention to it and retire to get on with some work.

..."Normally do six or seven pricks to be on the safe side."...

I've had a text from Ley Hill open prison.

George Michael was reading the thread and he's just fainted.

You don't need to peel them. Just wash, slice, boil 'til soft then mash (with cream or fromage frais?). The skins add vitamins & fibre!!

Have you given the ole man any brest lately?
 Almost pulled. - R.P.
So from a "hard stop" on the M90 to how to cook mash - that's what you call topic creep.
 Almost pulled. - Old Navy
Drivers, no chance, just closet pot washers. :)
 Almost pulled. - Runfer D'Hills
I used to enjoy a topic but prefer snickers now, which of course used to be called a marathon. This thread could run and run...
 Almost pulled. - BiggerBadderDave
Tescos do their own Twix now which is yummier than the real thing
 Almost pulled. - Runfer D'Hills
Do you have Tescos in Poland ?
 Almost pulled. - BiggerBadderDave
Thankfully yes but it's only M&S where I can get English food - weetabix and corned beef and pickle. And boy do I pay a premium for it.
 Almost pulled. - Old Navy

The list of places without Tesco's would be shorter.
 Almost pulled. - BiggerBadderDave
When I was a little kid, the only Tesco near us was dirty little store in Hyde Shopping precinct in Manchester. What a success story.
 Almost pulled. - R.P.
....and I almost think that's why a lot of people in the UK despise it.
 Almost pulled. - Runfer D'Hills
....bit like privacy glass then ?

Do I get a coconut ?
 Almost pulled. - BiggerBadderDave
"Do I get a coconut ?"

Come to my house and you can fill your boots. My wife is a Feng Shoey nut and places them in all sorts of nooks and crannies.

Don't ask...

Tits like coconuts

Don't know where to post a reply here that is loosely related to the thread but although I watch all these police chase programmes, I have never ever witnessed at first hand a police car chasing another car :(

Although now that I think of it, I once did see a police training exercise on the M8 where marked cars wers chasing a Mondeo and this turned out to be a police training exercise as I saw them repeating it later on on the same stretch.

I wonder , I wonder, M90 and M8 ain't too far apart!
 Almost pulled. - Old Navy
Different police forces. If an exercise it was realistic, the Mondeo was driven by a nutter with no regard for other road users.

The Leith Police dismisseth us. ( allegedly the forerunner of the breathalyser )

:-)

Ten years ago (ish) here in north Devon I witnessed three Police Mondeo's (unmarked) in tandem covering ground at reasonable speed, bumper to bumper. When I say bumper to bumper they were at the most 10ft apart. An enquiry with a friend said that the practice was quite normal and would possibly have been used for Prisoner transfer. Does anyone know any more??
 Almost pulled. - Fullchat
VIP / Prisoner(Cat A) transfer is all close quarter stuff. Usually marked cars for Cat A's. Less of them now since the Good Friday Agreement. You would see a few if you had a Cat A prison on you patch.

We see a few of those on their way to Whitemoor.

And near Frankland, often with a police helicopter lurking nearby.

I have Bobby. A Porsche 911 came through a red traffic light causing me to stop suddenly. What the? thought I until the Police Vectra 'flew' through the junction seconds later. The Porker left chunk of its mudflaps on the kerbstone it drove over. Surely the definition of 'Driving it like you stole it'!

I almost pulled once.

Unfortunately I hadn't had a bath for a month and for some unaccountable reason she didn't really fancy me when it came to it. Went off with some yobbo who smelt of cheap scent.

Ah well. Must have a bath some time, or at least spray myself with air freshener is it? Stuff that smells carcinogenic from the word go? That's what the modern female prefers I think. Honest work turns them off. I blame television and modern education.

Scowl. Smirk. Snigger.

We believe you. :)
 Almost pulled. - Perky Penguin
Is this at home or in your cab pda? Food on the move!
 Almost pulled. - Pat
That's at home Perky, in the cab it would be called Camion Stew and would go like this...

I tin of Irish Stew
I tin of new potatoes
1 small tin of peas

Pour all into a small sacepan and heat up on a Camping Gaz stove.
Eat out of the saucepan with a spoon.

For dessert, take one tin of Amdrosia creamed rice and eat cold.

In my case it would be accompanied by a glass of red from the fridge if time off allowed for it:)
