My 12 year car (owned 11 years) was due an annual service & MoT.
Car failed MoT on Tuesday due to only partial release of rear pads - handbrake cable was seized and not releasing the brake pads fully causing uneven pad wear.
Car sailed through rest of MoT.
Total bill = £330 inc VAT
Fixing brakes (Cables £80 (ouch!), pads £16), oil flush/oil/filters etc £80, labour £105..............
NO oil disposal charges, no £5.00 for miscellaneous bits and bobs, no washer top up fee of £3.00................Just an honest job for a value price.

PS they picked the car up and delivered it back !!!

That's been the only thing to give any trouble on mine, too, FB. Have also had similar problems with the handbrake mechanism on two other cars with rear discs, so am quite pleased that Mrs JBJ's new(er) 323 has drums!
