Best thing about that, Dog, is the comment below it:
"This is somewhat how I would imagine the bash street kids would look and sound like doing caroling."

Happy days: Beano & Dandy, Beezer/Topper etc. etc. I never really got on with Hotspur.
|
I loved the Beano but Dan Dare in the Eagle and Zip Nolan in the Lion were my favourites I recall.
|
Beano, Dandy et al were ok. I mean, not actually funny or anything, but entertaining enough in their way.
However, Victor, Hotspur, Eagle, Tiger and all the rest of that type were my favourites. My youngest uncle is only 6 years older than me so as a child I used to get all his hand me down comics and annuals. This was great mostly because my Mother disapproved of comics and resisted buying any for years. I have no idea why.
Zip Nolan was was the motorbike Highway Patrol guy? Yes, I liked him too. Never a huge fan of Dan Dare, but it was ok. Alf Tupper, Matt Braddock, Gorgeous Gus, loved them all.
There was another favourite character of mine, immortal and a 17th(?) century alchemist is what I remember, but Google threw up nothing.

Oh yes, loved them. I used to get them from jumble sales though, I couldn't afford them new. I've still got loads in a box somewhere. I also have almost all of them upto the end of my era in E-Book (Comic?).
I still browse them from time to time. I wouldn't have thought you could still print them but I did see them for sale on a British Army camp recently, though perhaps they are sanitised now.
Someone told me that they are now printed in Germany, which seems ironic.

I was never into the more growd up comics, but I was BIG on Marvel's Superman. I used to fantasize about having his powers and saving my school teacher (a woman!) I must have only been about 8 years old.
|
I remember those, but also the more cartoony things like Cor!, Knockout and Whizzer and Chips. They were a bit more surreal, which even then appealed.
When Viz came along I liked the shepherd with his faithful black bin liner the best.
Hated Monty Python though.

From seeing her previous videos, it's a wonder she's not showing somewhere to hang the Christmas baubles from.

I'm sad enough to have watched every one of their videos, and I'm STILL waiting for her to get to the point/s.

S'funny how women like to display their wares on YT. I watch, well listen actually, to a lot of women playing their Strats and Les Pauls etc, but why do they have to almost get their hooters out too?
Here's an example: FF to 4:57 for her attempts to play the guitar:

I don't know why they do it, but I'm prepared to stand firm for their right to do so.

Only 38 million views [must try harder]
:)
|
Sigh. You made me look it up, Dog.
Most watched YouTube video of all time with, 7.8 BILLION views is apparently this. I managed less than fifteen seconds, but I guess it wasn't aimed at me.

Somebody who knows might be able to tell us how much money that has made, assuming you get paid per view?
|
It's Grrreat for kids (like me) I managed the whole 2 minutes.
:o)

Christmas Day in the O'Reliant household has been moved to today.
We forgot to get the turkey out of the freezer on Christmas eve and had to make do with a bacon joint yesterday. Better late than never.
|
>> We forgot......
...was drink involved...?
Unless we get "Borised" Christmas is tomorrow for us.
The kids are geographically dispersed and a long way away. Christmas locally for them with local family and friends, and then up to see us tomorrow morning for a few days en famille.
It gave us the chance to have a (cold - 1C when we set out) walk yesterday. It was, not unsurprisingly, quiet on the walk, but there was also a notable absence of many signs of Christmas activity in most of the properties we passed. I know some people will be partying, but it gave the impression of a very subdued Christmas Day.
(maybe they all forgot to unfreeze the Turkey)
|
>> Unless we get "Borised" Christmas is tomorrow for us.
We intend to have the main get together tomorrow with my daughter's in laws whom we knew long before our kids got together. As this will be in Wales rather than England the risk was being "Marked" but I think we're safe now.
Mrs B and I had a Christmas meal together in our caravan at CAMC Southport. Roast veg with a vegan pie of some sort for her and duck breast cooked medium rare for me. Proper Xmas pud served with whisky rather than custard as is her family tradition. A good red, port with the cheese (she had vegan cheese) and Calvados to finish.
Tonight it's leftovers and stuff brought on the off chance.

Christmas was planned for today (Boxing day )
I think it might well be re scheduled for next month as son and family appear to have Covid.
Rethink the menu for me but SWMBO is totally unaware.
I just go with the flow.

Cold? -1C?
What you got in your veins? Chip shop vinegar?

...with Christmas postponed, I put it down to a low alcohol content....
