Hello all
Before the bad weather starts, I'd like to change the two front tyres on the work Suzuki Super Carry (2001 model).
One of them is just about down to the wear indicator and the other I'll move to the spare (because the spare is on the wear indicator).
I'd like to put some decent tyres onto it for the autumn / winter but I'm having trouble finding the sizes on the online sites (I'm probably entering something wrong).
One tyre is 155 R13 78T and the other is 155 R13 90 88R.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Chris.

What profile are the tyres?
The size should read like this :
155 / xx / 13 / speed rating (ie 78T or 88R)
xx is what you're missing.
The speed rating should be in the manual.

A quick google reveals a tyre for an 02 model on ebay with an 80 profile - what year is yours?
If that is the correct profile, the cheapest branded tyre on mytyres is a Vredestein Sprint+ at £27.50 with a T rating - use that as your benchmark when ringing round your local places.

Ahhh, it's too dark at the moment and I can't lay my hands on a torch, so I'll check tomorrow.
The owners manual says 155R13C 85/83 N 6PR(?)
So, I'm assuming that 85/83 is the profile but mytyres don't list any 155 13 85s
I'll check the profile of the tyres on the van tomorrow.
Thanks, Chris.

6PR is this 6 ply as a standard car tyre is 4 ply 6 would be for carrying load.
155x13 & 155/80/13 is the same tyre back in the day when i fitted them for a living it was 155x13 as i was leaving they switching to 155/80/13.
Those are the good old tyre sizes that were a common as muck back in the late 80's/90's wish things were simple today and not 245/45z18!!!!!
|
That will be better then, there are plenty of 155/80/13s on mytyres.
I'll double check the profile that's on the van tomorrow before I order.
Thanks for the help, Chris.

you must get 6 ply commercial or invalidate your insurance though
NOT
car tyres as bigtee implied but didnt specify hard enough

Thanks Bellboy

I was thinking about that after my reply Bellboy as it's a van, albeit a light one.
Would extra load/re-inforced tyres be OK?
|
reinforced should be extra cords though so best check first before you order

Ooops i was reffering to the sizes not the load as if you notice i did not put those in bellboy.

Does that go for my van too (Fiat Scudo 2.0 JTD 16V), also "commercial", which only specifies 205/65R15 94T, not number of plies, and has Mitchelin Energy Savers on at the moment?

And does that also apply for van based cars such as the Berlingo?
|
No, they're cars (unless they're vans). My van's a van, and I'm only supposed to do 50/60/70 on single-carriageway/dual-carriageway/motorways. No idea about the tyres, though.
