Unsurprisingly contingencies are being made in case of a no deal Exit.

If you are lashing out new Porsche money, and the 10% make a significant difference to your purchase choice, you couldnt afford to buy it and run in the first place.

Could say that about any new car.

Might be the difference between going for the Porsche or buying some Brit built crap like a Jag of course.

I thought the F type looked rather nice, not an all time classic but nice all the same.

I had the choice, new german or new jaguar. The jags look loverly and who wouldn't want a jag on the drive.

However I went for build quality and reliability.

I wonder how much different they are in those areas? Haven't looked at JD power or similar in quite a while.

Neck and neck for the old model, then both had a fall. I suppose it's difficult to quantify that 4%. Still, not a big gap between them.

I think I'd take the chance of a small perceived difference in reliability and take the Jag but I'm not in the market for either. So it doesn't really matter what I think! :-)

No, I wanted a classy luxury car that went like the wind, handled well, more I wanted one that looked good.

Looks rather nice is not quite in the same street as long term reliability.

No, but an avensis isn't really in the same market as an F type.

And if I were buying a new car of any kind I'd tell them the risk is theirs or "no deal"!

.....from what I've seen of Porsche* ownership, there is a reasonable proportion of owners who are already in that position.

*other performance marques are available.
