On a kind of related subject, surely driverless cars on the highways are a no brainer and dead easy to develop. Better in every conceivable way other than emotionally. Though I'd say my teenagers couldn't give a flying crap about driving if something else will get them somewhere efficiently when they want. So for them, they are even better from an emotional perspective.
The difficulty presumably comes when that road space is shared with ridiculous human beings.
So how long before we get "driverless cars only" lanes?
I think the campaign is not going to be "allowing autonomous vehicles"; that's simply inevitable and unstoppable. I'd expect the hard fight to be defending the rights of human driven vehicles, which I expect to soon be encroached upon.
You heard it here first. Please remember that so I don't have to do the "told you so" dance in the future.
