I travel daily both ways, and have tried various routes - M25 then M3 or Hayes Bypass. Also tried going Southall, has any one any suggestions for other route so that I can miss traffic, thanks

I can't hear the name 'Teddington' without Benny Hill's words 'Two-ton Ted from Teddington' flashing into my brain. Same with 'pasteurised' - that man had a lot to answer for!
Sorry I can't help with the route...

I think BH is alive and well and living in Poland. Just that he favours cowboy boots now.
Sorry blueman, I can't help either.
Now where's my kazoo ?

The only way to avoid traffic in that area is don't go there.

Teddington always reminds me of the Thames TV address 'Teddington Lock' which used to come up on Magpie.
This in turn reminds me of the rather delectable Jenny Handley.
I can't help with the route, either.

No Jenny was the thinking adolescent's crumpet.

|
...as in you thought about her a lot ?
|

Alas she is now a fat and bulbous thing.

Blueman, thats an awful journey to have to take,
You have tried all the main routes. Have you tried Stockly park, Cowley and Uxbridge route?
|
In order to get a better picture of your commute
What are your start times at work and departure times from work ?
Obviously the potential for a lot a traffic especially with the M25 road works.
Which parts of the routes you have tried flow well?
I am familiar with many bits of the Teddington towards the M4 part
The most obvious route to me is the Hayes bypass and A40 which you appear to be familiar with.
Is the M4 to Slough and then Beconsfield any use?

This thread brings back memories....
In the 1970s I was in charge of the audit of Thames TV which was at Teddington Studios. Then I moved to a training company where I worked with Jenny Hanley's brother Jeremy - a lovely man who went on to mixed fortunes as a Conservative MP and minister. Teddington Studios is now the HQ of Autocar.
None of which is any help to Blueman! I can't think of anything better than A312 and A40: the A312 is a lot better now it bypasses Hayes.
|
i just think of Ian McShane as Teddy in sexy beast when i hear teddington
you looking at me.....................?
|
Think i'd be using M25/M3, but are you using A413 Amersham to Denham roundabout, if not give it a try.
Also is the A308 Staines bypass still a pita in case M3's jammed.
