Mr Tarrant you have been brought before the Magistrates on suspicion of drink driving. How do you plead?
Tarrant: Guilty.
...Is that your final answer...?
|
...probably a few more "Extreme Railway" trips for the next year, then.......
|
He tried to his best to blame everyone apart from himself.
|
Judge:- you were going to be let off with a caution, but we don't want to give you that.
With that, Tarrant created such a Tiswas and threw a custard pie into the judge's face.

I didn't see that in the reports I've read?
Interesting that he pled quilty - sounds like he might have been offered a deal on the reading.

And quilty he was. He claimed that he'd been drinking at home prior to Police arrival. He got confused as to what he'd actually drunk at that time when questioned. Claimed the fact that he'd been grassed on by a neighbour with a grudge... etc.

Perhaps he was. Difficult to see any relevance of that though.
Stupid to do it of course, though hasn't everybody at some point in their life?
I haven't driven when seriously over the limit since I was a teenager, but I've driven with the odd pint or so over the years and quite possibly over the limit. Until, that is, I had a terrible, terrible accident which was not my fault and I was stone cold sober, it did occur to me how it could have been had I had a glass of wine in my system. Now never touch a drop.
Anyway, if I had got caught in the past, I'm sure i would have tried every excuse in the book, however pathetic, They just wouldn't have appeared in the media.
