To be attempted murder it has to be just that, a deliberate attempt to kill a person or persons.

Why not? Let's assume they've got permanent addresses and risk of absconding or interfering with witnesses is non existent or mitigated by bail conditions.

No reason to spend money keeping them in custody.

Because if its me and its a murder charge, I am offski. Plus this is murder, not manslaughter. This is an deliberate act, not circumstances. People who plan to kill are capable of a repeat. Three people, joint enterprise, more likely to interfere with witnesses or help each other away.

If bail conditions are set so as to mitigate risk no need to waste taxpayers cash on custody.

Doctrine of joint enterprise. If three people hatch something between them, but only one pulls the trigger, they can still all be convicted of the same crime.

Assume there must have been history between them or the three confessed or there was other incriminating evidence.

Only minor injuries were suffered and it only happened on Sunday so that was a pretty quick investigation!!
