Do all hand car wash businesses use chemicals which won't harm your car? What can you do to be sure that the business you've chosen uses non-injurious chemicals?

And they will tell you that the chemicals are the mildest eco friendly availiable, and they only use pure spring water.

But won't mention the gritty brush stood in a muddy puddle. :-)

I will never use them as a bad scratch over two panels could cost £500 to spray. I bet trying to claim that back would be a laugh.

In the past I have always washed the car myself. Unfortunately spinal problems now prevent me from doing so. Needs must when the devil drives.

The latest place I used has a purpose-built garage on an industrial estate. So far I'm impressed with the visual appearance of the car afterwards.

Mobile valeters often do a cheap wash and tidy for little more than £10, sometimes less, esp if you can get a few cars to be done in the same place at same time. They most likely will use chemicals from one of the major suppliers that can be trusted.

A local fella to me does it for £8 according to his website, supplies water aswell.

When they wash your do they wear rubber gloves?

The chemicals we have at work to remove road grime eats your hands if you get it on not literally but it sure does not feel good after 1 wash imagine 50 a day!

I started wear latex gloves when working about 10 years ago as the chemicals often dry out your skin, especially polishes and shampoo/cleaners.

I wonder if this would remove the traffic if I put it down on my route to work?
