This looks as if backing into the spaces may have been a wise option.

What does appear a little strange is that the cantilevered slabs do not appear have any steel in them where they have fractured. Any comments from our builder and surveying members?

A comment( not mine ) posted in The Mirror online .
" having visited Nottingham several dozen times over the past few years for site work, this is one of the few car parks i'd of never parked in. Upon one of my first visits it was very evident it was falling apart. As a structural engineer that somewhat specialising in this sort of thing, the relevant authority was informed, but alas... like with all things english... nothing was done about it."
