Land Rover - New Range Rover Velar - rtj70
I quite like the look of the new Velar. Based on the same underpinnings as the Jaguar F-Pace. In truth I'd get an F-Pace if I wanted a similar car. I think the two touch/gesture controlled screens are a bit OTT as well.

But what I found interesting was the origin of the model name. Back before we had Range Rover, apparently Rover were working on a new luxury SUV (late 60s). They needed a hush hush name so used Velar of Croydon - a fictitious manufacturer.

But why Velar? The word is (apparently) the first-person singular present indicative of the Latin verb velare, which means to hide. :-)
