 Drink driver stuck on tram lines - mikeyb
Drink driver in Birmingham with no insurance managed to drive onto the tracks and got stuck causing disruption for 5 hours.

17 month ban - offered course to reduce by 17 weeks
£246 fine, £135 prosecution costs, £30 victim surcharge

Looks far to lenient to me

The ban looks about right for contrite offender and first offence.

Fine seems low but presumably court had details of his income.

But then car probably on finance and insurer will repudiate all but 3rd party claims so he's paying a lot more than just fine.
