Newport M4 speed limits prosecutions 'imminent' - Old Navy
The supermarket next to our local football stadium has recently brought in a parking enforcement company and fitted ANPR cameras and signs indicating a 90 minute maximum stay, I suspect there are going to be a few surprised football supporters. In fact I saw some parking there a couple of hours ago, I expect the £70 penalties will be in the post shortly.

I now refuse to use hotels that have "Parking Eye" and considering that I stay on average in two hotels a week, some will lose the income.

A couple of them are not near any location where parking could be a problem, so it is a money making scheme imho!

I belive that variable motorway speed limits should always be enforced or there is no point in setting them. As for parking enforcement companies, I always avoid them if I can, I was the victim of an attempted scam but could prove that my car was elsewhere during the period of the alleged "offence". I appealed, and informed them that if they did not accept the appeal I was happy to see them in court, I heard no more from them.

I was in a similar scenario after my son-in-law took photos of some 'parking enforcement agents' parking in a 'no parking' area'.

I received a penalty notice for my registration, but no photo. The alleged area was nowhere I'd been near and the vehicle manufacturer described was the wrong side of the Pacific to mine.

Not so easy when the signs are difficult to read even in the daytime. I have this in mind:

Not a problem, there must be speed signs every 500m on both sides of the road. The speed signs must be accompanied with "Average speed check" signs. If you can't see that lot you shouldn't be driving. Even my car can read speed signs.

In the cse of A316,
either the signs weren't there when I drove past
or the rules in London are different to wherever you live
or TfL are ignoring the rules in London.

There needs to be a warning at the start of the camera zone (example goo.gl/maps/q9HnjPdxaeK2). The cameras and their gantries on that road, A43 Lumbertubs Way in Northampton, are a massive clue in their own right.

The A316 is street lit road so limit is 30 unless signs and regular repeaters say otherwise. Streetview shows repeaters. It's software has pixelated the numbers, limit is probably either 40 or 50.

Doesn't seem too difficult to me.

My apologies, I was thinking of the extensive roadworks near me, however there are many miles of average limits in Sunny Scotland, most of the A9 between Perth and Inverness for example, and they are well signposted with speed limit and average signs. The yellow vultures are also a good indication. My satnav knows when I am in a average zone and gives a continuous average speed for the zone, it also gives a warning if you exceed the average.
