 Lease car warranty - zippy
My next car will be on a 3 year personal lease, but as I do 25k miles a year the 60k warranty will expire before the lease is up. (Non maintained.)

Who is responsible if the car develops a fault in the last 15k miles (the lease broker, the lease co or me)?

I'd have thought you - why would they pay?

If I was going to do 75k miles in three years I'd pick a car with a longer warranty.

The answer is - ask the lease company. Or have it on a 2 year lease.

In fact I'm surprised you can get a lease where the warranty will expire before you hand it back. They do know you'll be doing 25k miles a year. Are you paying a premium for the high mileage?

I have been running some online quotes this morning.

It's about £300 pm + 6 months for 25k and £240. Pm + 6 for 10k for a Ford Kuga

So the extra miles is only £2500 ish. So about 5.5p each extra mile. Not as bad as I thought.

I know someone who did a private lease and they did much much more miles than anticipated. So they had to buy it at the end - they didn't want to pay out for the high excess charges ;-)

I had the turbo go on my car at 60,100. Fortunately a lease with maintenance.

The lease company and the manufacturer spent a couple of days arguing about the share of the bill before the garage could do the work.

Surprised it's not a bigger industry with a lot of people only needing to take a couple of thousand off a year.

Think if you were unlucky it would be your issue, so I guess you can either buy a warranty extension, or pick something with a longer warranty
