Don't know if this will work but let's give it a go.
Given the relatively small number of regular contributors to this forum we might be able to get a reasonable shot at it anyway.
It's a running total "survey" of our car choices split by the following categories, so if I start with the two cars at my address the list looks like this -
Saloon - 0
Hatchback - 0
Estate - 1
SUV - 1
MPV - 0
Cabriolet - 0
If the next person to contribute copies and pastes the list and adds their numbers to mine and so on we should end up with a picture of the split of car types from a group of motoring enthusiasts.
All of the above for no reason or purpose at all other than mild interest/amusement ( and perhaps a little respite from argument eh? )
;-)

If you've time to do it CG, perhaps you'd be so kind as to add a "coupe" category?

This isn't going to work, people need to add just what *they* own and then it needs to be added up at the end.
For that, mine is...
Saloon - 1
Hatchback - 1
Estate - 0
SUV - 2
MPV - 0
Cabriolet - 0
Pick up - 3

Y'see, the colonials always cause the problems don't they ?
I'm going for my swim now, sort yourselves out chaps...
;-))
|
Excluding the NFM2R confusing colonial contribution, this will now probably bifurcate the thread and cause confusion!
This followed the neiltoo contribution and added mine, but now realise that he had got it wrong too!

I'm confused already, and we've only had 10 posts.
Just add in 2 saloons, 1 estate, 1 landrover, 1 tractor to whatever it is I'm supposed to add them to.
(Presumably working vehicles only, not non-runners, incomplete, stored in boxes, or theoretical as in log-book plus VIN plate only ?)
|
Saloon - 0
Hatchback - 4
Estate - 2
SUV - 1
MPV - 2
Cabriolet - 2
To this add in the Popemobiles and my estate + convertible and you get:
Saloon - 2
Hatchback - 4
Estate - 4
SUV - 2
MPV - 2
Cabriolet - 3
Tractor - 1
I'm not altogether sure what this is going to tell us in the long run: personally I'd have found it more interesting if we'd listed the makes of car we have.
|
Saloon - 0
Hatchback - 1
Estate - 0
SUV - 1
MPV - 0
Cabriolet - 0
Van 1
Twin wheeled trailer 1

I think we need an audit. Accountant needed...

Hatchback - 1
Estate - 0
SUV - 1
MPV - 0
Cabriolet - 0
Van -0
Twin wheeled trailer 0
Caravan-1
Motorcycle-2
Bicycle-1
Ignore as required.
|
Oh look, never mind eh...

Are we now counting all wheeled powered and towed vehicles?
1 twin-axle trailer, 1 single axle trailer, one caravan, one dinghy trailer, one field roller, about 6 bicycles, one plough, and one towed hay-rake (converted to garden seat).
I think that's about it.
No, I forgot, 4 lawn mowers, one ride-on cultivator.
2 horses.
Old mother Arley and her cow and a sausage roll and a bottle of pop went to mow a meadow.

"Running Total" is a difficult concept to grasp..
Best get back to the analysis of EU economic statistics :-)

As is "Average speed cameras" for some.

that's because they are not average speed cameras - there is an absolute upper limit as well.

I've put the Astra down as a hatchback because....well, it's got a hatchback. But it's sort of saloon shaped really.
MD and No FM, really...........

Aye but someone had pick-ups...
How hard can it be?
Sheesh !
;-)
Edit - and someone else has a van

Up to 2005 dead straightforward.
Saloon 2 (Minis)
Hatchback 3 ( Pug 104, Pug 205 & BX)
Estate 2 (another BX, Xantia)
Subsequent choices:
Berlingo * 2, Mk 2 & Mk3, (Estate, MPV or split?)
Roomster (Estate or MPV?)

Some can't add one to what's already there; some include everything they've ever owned. And we wonder why the government doesn't often give important issues to the people to decide.
I haven't got the only coupé here, have I? This way, lay-deeze! (Cue something from Humph about fake tan and hair product.)
};---)
|
I think it's really funny actually, but can't quite decide who's taking the mickey and who is, well, y'know...
;-))
|
The original post seemed straightforward enough but it soon went wrong. I'd have added our two cars but there's now multiple lists! And NoFM2R seems to either have 2 or 3 pickups.
|
3. Old Chevy, Dodge Ram and a Nissan something or other.
|
Oh. I see what you mean. I appear to have posted twice.
Sorry about that, can't think why or how.

I don't see an LEC on the list. Not that I have been provided with one of course. :-)
Put me down for a tiny diesel hatchback.

All we need now is an inane fluffy post.....
|
Do you like making useful lists? Fluffy
|
Please, whoever is persisting with getting this right, add 1 saloon and 1 cabriolet. At least that gets two more categories under way.
|
And please add one hatch back
( does having first dibs on a soft top count?)
|
May I, as the thread originator, respectfully suggest we draw a line under it now please? I hadn't imagined that simple arithmetic would be quite so challenging, but I do fear, on reflection, that posting it on a Friday night was a contributory factor...
Let's trust that was the reason anyway, any other explanation might be a little disturbing.

The mistake, Runfer, if I might say so, was in not having a sufficiently all-embracing list of categories to start with, tempting people into adding their own extra categories or querying the definitions.
And I am easily tempted :)

I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like, it's got a basket, a bell that rings, and things to make it look good.
