They'd only really work on the back of my car, and driving around in a black Mercedes half track wouldn't feel quite pc somehow. I'd feel self conscious about waving to anyone for sure.

Really? I rather feel that the waving would be the best bit. I'd being doing laps of WdB's house, waving at each pass.

If i had a farm maybe.
THere is a fitting video on trucktracks.com - takes him most of 9 minutes and with the second set he has less traction getting to the ramp on two wheels and two tracks that he had with four tyres.
And the nine minutes doesn't include modifying the vehicle to accept them.
To use them for real you would need a big pickup as I can see speed on tarmac being limited with them fitted, the video doesnt show him putting them back into the pickup.
