I trust that all you diesel users have reverted to summer diesel. We can't have any winter tyres in summer nonsense when it comes to fuel. :-)

It's whatever came out of the pump last week, so I've no idea. But I've stopped putting more than a token amount of additive in the screenwash tank, which will probably catch me out now that the sun's coming up an hour later.

Summer? Pulled back the curtains to see snow on the tops this morning. Just above freezing at the moment and my stove has been lit for hours. Freezing again tomorrow night.

Frost alarm in the Roomie 'pinged' around 21:10 tonight in suburban Northampton. Will be proper freezing by dawn unless cloud cover etc changes in next few hours.

Gardening Which used to regularly publish a chart of 'last frost' dates by Region/County. IIRC subzero at ground level here is probable well into May.

We are 200m ASL just south of Glasgow - we can have frost at almost any time of the year - it's common in late May / early June when the weather is often calm and clear. Beggars up the apple blossom!
Winter diesel will be OK in summer, and most of the time the other way around unless it's really cold...

I haven't seen a Mayflower for a long time, but no doubt Ted will have his Javelin out soon. If I remember what people said when they were new in the 50s, Javelins were a lot better to drive.

I'm snowboarding in the French Alps at the moment (Morzine), and made sure to fill up the Transporter with local diesel on arrival. The temperature has been well above freezing and often double figures since we arrived, so neither the winter diesel or the winter tyres are needed!

For the past 2 years I've only ever filled up with either BP Ultimate or more often Shell V-Power (I get points towards Waitrose vouchers).
I know some of you will slate me for this ..... at the moment I can afford it and I have seen a small benefit in the mpg so I'm happy.

I use V-power petrol and diesel, although it is annoying that the price differential seems to have widened with lower fuel prices.
We use so little petrol that it isn't a hardship, and it might have some benefit.
I set more store by the benefit of the diesel. I know the car will probably run on central heating oil if I ask it to, but I know how the clag accumulates in diesels. On standard diesel, the DPF regenerates about every 300 miles, I'm pretty sure it's double that interval on the V-Power which should hopefully reduce the ash build up.
The observation makes sense to me if V-Power is in large part made from gas as claimed.

I'm using V Power diesel in the SAAB in the hope that it contains better lubricating properties than standard fuel, and so will help prolong the life of the fuel injector pump, which are known to fail on this model and are very expensive to replace due to having a built-in ECU.

Secondary reason is to collect Avios points via the Drivers' Club card, in the hope that it may save me money on tickets to Australia, which I am planning to buy next year. You get double on V Power. Of course, I could just pocket the saving on the price of the fuel. But I am a notoriously bad saver.
I'd like to know if I'm just being a victim of marketing here, but it seems facts are scant relating to the matter. Which in itself leads me to believe I am being had over.

Only time I ever noticed a difference in diesel fuel was in the late 90s when low sulphur diesel was just coming in. My discovery mk2 definitely went better on full fat diesel, faster and a little bit more economical. Stuff the ozones....
