................. are the makers still calling it a Mini?
I saw a massive thing in a car park recently. nearly as big as our Jazz, and the badge on the back was something like a 4WD diesel Cooper S MINI.
What a lump it was.

Probably a Mini Countryman, which has most other cars beaten for chronic ugliness, apart from the Fiat 500L which looks very like it.
|
Maybe it's for people who want a Mini, but need more room. Or is it, that in the way that some folk buy dogs that look a bit like them, that the increasingly 'large' population are buying cars that look a bit like them too...

That's why we have a svelte MINI Clubvan...

Someone who works in my building has a latish Austin Mini. Someone else has a Countryman. I once looked out of the stairwell window and saw them parked side by side.
An hour later I passed the same window and there was an empty space where the little Mini had been. The picture only needed a couple of discarded wheels in the empty space and a trickle of oily gravy on the Countryman's front bumper.

MINI is a brand/marque. It is all capitals. It has nothing to do with car size.
|
I'd say a MINI Countryman is quite a bit bigger than a Jazz.
My Mum's FIAT 500l dwarfs my SAAB 9-5 and Mazda 6.

Aye, a pig among swine

Blimey, I didn't know you had anything against our Mazda, Zedder. Thought that was your kind of motor. I shall have to tell it. It will be disappoint.
SAAB MOT in a couple of weeks, looking forward to getting you all going about it again.

So why don't they call it a Maxi ?/
|
|
Because Minis are perceived as trendier than Maxis? Actually, fairly much anything was trendier than a Maxi.
