BMW - The future of BMW - or the past? - Avant
Just received today (4 March) an E-mail headed 'The Future of BMW'. The message runs:

"This year, we’re celebrating the centenary of BMW Group.

To mark the occasion, we will be sharing our vision for the next 100 years.

The future of driving will be revealed.

Monday 7 January.

2pm UK time.

Live from Munich."

(7 January wasn't even a Monday, although 7 March is. So much for BMW quality control....)

Got that too - and a revised repeat today with the correct date.

Arrived here yesterday, with amended version a couple of hours later.

Yes, I've got the corrected version now - definitely 7 March as expected. Could be worth watching. There is no doubt a red face, or even a rolled head, at BMW HQ.

I bet ten shillings 'the future of motoring' isn't a straight six
More's the pity

It's a marketing tactic to make you dwell on it - similar to the way they mispronounce brand names on TV adverts.

Yeah, for example, no one has ever had the surname "McCleen" It's McLean ( pronounced McLane )

Idiots

They have just changed the contents to major on the chocolate Blancmange.

Earlier this morning it was all about the M7

So get your order in for a BMW i of some description. Well maybe consider a “ BMW i Wallbox “ for the future ?

I thought the Crackerjack one was pronounced as McLeen
Might have been the poor sound on our telly :-)

For our sins, we went to see a stage show last Autumn and the "surprise guest" - well actually the "last minute stand-in" was that very same Don Maclean from Crackerjack (pronounced clean, yes).

After the initial "Good Lord, is he still..." reaction, we went from finding him Not Funny to finding him Quite Funny to finding him Actually Very Funny, across two sets. There was no time related substance release involved.
