It's sensible to assume that there's some sort of camera trained on you at all times. You may get away with a joint between two fingers waved out of the window, but smoking crack or taking a fix in a layby could bring helicopters and things if you were out of luck.

I don't read that as software. I infer that when they are looking at speeding snaps they are checking for seat belt and mobile phone offenders.
It's too vague to know really.

Exactly. They have no "seat belt / mobile phone" checking software.

Fact: driver enters large roundabout in North Devon. Her relative who set up the cameras there and who can monitor them from anywhere spotted her, called her up and told her to put her seatbelt on. If that's not monitoring.....

We have that all the time.
The tracker in the lorry alerts the screen in the office when a seat belt isn't worn.
....or even if any warning light comes on in the vehicle too.

Fact: he knew her car registration number. Fact: while he was watching her, every other driver in the county was getting away with it.
