I bought an excellent chamois for my limousine a couple of months ago that was recommended by HJ in the telegraph a few years back.
Not exactly Lidl prices, but at £13.99 (including postage) for their 4 ft version, I am well pleased.

I'm a customer of this company - nothing more.

I assume you mean 4 sq.ft, not 4 ft.

Some folks really do spoil their cars :-P
I got one of those thick pile microfibre drying towels and they work pretty well too. Seems to work better the wetter it gets (up to saturation point obviously) quick skoosh with the hose before starting and it's pretty fast.
|
I'm a microfibre convert.
|
I've not used a chamois for so long, I've forgotten how well - or poorly - they do the job.
The Vileda Flunky car cloth - as recommended by Stu on here - is the best synthetic cloth I've had in years.

I can't stand microfibre cloth. It sticks to my rough hands.
|
I bought from Halfords a synthetic leather in c 1995. It still workd perfectly : no holes etc.. It is kept damp in original plastic case... Never allowed to dry out - as per instructions.

A quality chamois can be had from The Leather Shop on the Quay in Mevagissey, ask for Don and say Dog sent you.
:)

I use, almost exclusively, Autoglym's synthetic 'leathers' although they appear to have just gone up in cost to £9.99 in Halfords. I can't stand MF cloths as they don't seem to do what they're supposed to and on glass they drag and sometimes leave a film of very small fibres which is most irritating.

I'd have to stop overnight. Do you do B & B ?

Would have to be a healthy brekkie though, so that's no eggs, no bacon, no sausages, no butter etc., etc., etc.
So its porridge made with water and a little salt (sea-salt)
|
That's fine by me. Light on the sea salt, though!

See! that's another myth, about salt being bad for you, its a case of using *the right* kinda salt ~

This is a better site for Celtic sea-salt ~ www.regenerativenutrition.com/content.asp?id=30
Can be used on roads as well (motoring link)

Interesting to sea the other side of the argument.

((Interesting to sea the other side of the argument.))
Yeah, takes all salts.

No chance.

I prefer the pasty shop next door, just ask for pasty mary and tell them fat zero sent you.

Funnily enough, Ole Don was fat, he ended up with type 2 diabetes and dangerously high cholesterol
