This one in particular should please Manatee:
A428: dualling of remaining single carriageway section between Caxton Gibbet west of Cambridge and the M1, including a grade separated junction at the A1 Black Cat roundabout.
I wonder if they'll complete the current 'improvement' to the Black Cat roundabout, that's causing massive tailbacks, before starting again and no doubt causing even more mayhem.
Politician's promise. Wonder if any of us will still be around to see completion.

Just for starters

An impressive list but years of roadworks .
Chuck in a Heathrow runway and the M25 in a trough.....

More smoke and mirrors from the politicians. It was admitted by Danny Alexander in an interview this morning that this was not new money, just a firming up of the road improvment programme. Also that the flood defence programme is not fully funded as some of the money will come from local authorities who claim poverty and statutory priorities.

IMHO, they want to get some of the existing roads up to scratch (i.e. potholes, etc) before considering building new ones.

"Steve Bell's take"
The comments underneath are invariably more interesting than the cartoon itself.

The Druids didn't build Stonehenge - they are just a lot of Johnny-come-latelys. Is Rollo Moughling still running their sideshow?
Hell will freeze over before that tunnel is built.

Of course the druids didn't build stonehenge - it was built in 1954 at theh height of the cold war. All the proof you need here.
