Two acquaintances of mine have recently taken delivery of new ( to them ) cars. One, a 3 series M3 coupe with the 4.0 V8. Another, a BM M235i. Just a straight 6 with considerably fewer horses, but adequate.
I hate to admit this but after tine spent in each as a passenger I prefer the latter. Even though I still consider it quite ugly, the ride is very acceptable and power sufficient for 99% of us. The M3 was just too radical for my liking. Amazing performance but not hugely more than the 235i, and as a daily commuter the hard ride would become tiring after a while.
Quite sad as it made me realise I must be getting old.
