Took delivery of a year old Octavia t'other day having test driven different models, including the actual car I've bought. Mildly irritated by the following problem: When I first set out in the morning and go round my first left hand bend theres a single klonk noise from what sounds like inside the drivers door. Brake hard (almost emergency hard) and there's a louder metallic knock from what sounds like inside the front passenger door. If I then try and repeat either of these events they won't happen, until the following day! Doubtless I'll get Skoda to investigate but any ideas what this may be?

Can of windscreen de-icer under the seat.

Faulty bottom ball joint, or worn/faulty suspension top mount, anti roll bar link.

Agree with corax as to likely causes but also check for anything loose under the spare wheel or around the jack storage. Exhaust hanger a possibility too.

Can you provoke it again by reversing and stopping (or turning)?

This is a quality vehicle Humph, that sort of thing only happens on cars manufactured by cowboy outfits :-P

.....and indeed at unfeasably low mileages.

Don't mention cowboys CraigP, you'll only give BBD an excuse to show those damn boots again!!

The OP says the clonks sound like they are coming from inside the front doors.
Is it something to do with the seatbelt inertial reels locking?
