This is pre GCSE science stuff. It dosn't really take a genius to work it out.
The only environmental benefit to electric cars is it shifts the pollution away from the cities.

If only our politicians had more guts, then that would not be true, as the electricity would be generated by nuclear, so no pollution.

I didn't know that the Institute of Engineering and Technology dealt with cars - with quotes like that, they might as well be "waste engineers". OK, then, dustmen.
